Detailed explanation on how to open an aged wine

First of all, remember that you will have to open following an itinerary that leads you to do things with logic.

The first step is to remove the capsule and the cork from the wine, then slowly, after a few minutes that the bottle is already open (first show it to who you will be serving) place the wine in a decanter, being careful not to shake it too much.

By now you have almost done everything necessary to open a bottle of aged wine: you just have to be sure to wait the right time before drinking the wine to allow proper oxygenation.

How long is better to wait? Generally, in aged wines, it is expected at least an hour, as in the case of the opening of the Barolo Riserva, but for intensely aged wines it tends to wait even a few more minutes.

However, it is recommended not to exceed the hours of oxygenation, or there will be a risk of a loss of the aromas that characterize our well-aged wine.
